Furuta Drop is a cat centric art and zakka brand created by polarisu. with color and fun, we take the daily mundane of life and add a splash of "kawaii" to everything we do! all of our products are meticulously designed, illustrated, painted and/or handcrafted by polarisu and spot checked by our official quality control team.

much of our original art is based on the official, real life mascots of FD.
although he passed away in 2023, felix, a constant in polarisu's life, is her main muse and inspiration for Furuta Drop's creation. he was a good natured, caring little clown and her very best friend.
saved from a high kill shelter during hurricane sandy, latte is a sweet cuddle bug with an attitude and a bottomless appetite! he's a fan of belly rubs and riding the all-you-can-eat gravy train.
adopted from Little Wanderers NYC in jan 2024, tiny maurice is a forever kitten with the strength and athleticism of a panther in compact form! also known as 'snuggies' and 'snugs,' he's a loving shadow cat who just adores getting into absolutely everything and following polarisu everywhere she goes.

marlena von hoffer, known as 'polarisu,' is an artist and former legal professional residing in the city of troy, ny.
a mixed race, lifelong city-dweller, FD was created to share the vibrance and color of her culture with everyone she meets.
in addition to her love of felines, polarisu is a huge fan of horror movies, anime/manga and music. (she's way into Koda Kumi, Anzen Chitai and SPEED!)
